New Brunswick voters elected David Alward's Conservatives to a solid majority government on September 27th. Premier Shawn Graham's Liberals were ousted after a single term marred by backtracking on key decisions that ran afoul of public opinion. Alward said he was overwhelmed by the support and promised to include New Brunswickers as his government moved forward. (Alward vowed to bring in a smaller, 15-member cabinet as well as create an committee to lay out an energy plan to guide decisions about NB Power's future.)
