A beleaguered Ottawa police force announced December 2nd it was reviewing its detention policies after the release of two videos showing officers cutting a woman's clothes off during a strip search and kicking a homeless man. Chief Vern White said the videos shook the public's confidence in the force. (Just days later, on December 7th, the Ottawa force announced it had called in the Ontario Provincial Police to investigate two new cases of alleged abuse in the cell blocks.
