About 150 Canada Post workers in Winnipeg walked out June 3rd in the first of a series of rotating nation-wide 24-hour strikes after contract negotiations stalled. Lisa Peterson, vice-president of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Winnipeg local, said rotating strikes would grab Canada Post's attention. (Sick leave and wages were among the sticking issues in the labor dispute. Parliament passed back-to-work legislation on the last weekend in June to end the postal lockout.)
