The federal government restored the once familiar names of the air and maritime divisions of the Canadian Forces. Defense Minister Peter MacKay announced August 16th that they would again officially be known as the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Air Force, while Land Force Command would be called the Canadian Army.
