On September 7th, three-year-old Kienan Hebert was taken from his home in Sparwood, BC, prompting a massive search that made headlines country-wide. At a short news conference a couple of days later, Kienan's parents Paul Hebert, with his wife Tammy addressed a brief message to Randall Hopley, a convicted sex offender police allege took the child. (The child's abductor covertly returned the boy unharmed to his unoccupied home on September 11th. Paul Hebert said he intentionally left the house unlocked when the family left to stay with neighbors. Hebert was found inside after police received a 911 call. Forty-six-year-old Randall Hopley was charged in the kidnapping.)
