The Neepawa Natives junior hockey team was fined 5,000 dollars and an assistant coach and several players were handed suspensions following a hazing investigation. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League refused to say what happened but a player's father later revealed five rookies had been made to walk naked around the locker room with plastic crates tied to their genitals. Two days later, the assistant coach resigned and the team announced it would trade the junior player who filed the complaint. The 15-year-old player's father said he was proud of his son for coming forward. (On October 29th, the league announced it was re-opening its investigation. On November 3rd, the team issued an apology to victims and fans, and the league website announced head coach and general manager Bryant Perrier had resigned.)
