Authorities in Montreal and Edmonton dismantled two of Canada's last remaining Occupy camps. Sixteen people were detained briefly by Montreal police during a peaceful demonstration. In Edmonton, three people were arrested for trespassing. Protester Domenic Massey Sansalone vowed the movement was far from over and declared a victory for having managed to stay for so long. (The co-founder of the magazine that launched the Occupy movement said protesters would spend the winter brainstorming new ideas and launch a new phase of the movement in the spring.)
