Former MP and provincial cabinet minister Daniel Paille (PIE'-yay) was chosen December 11th as the new leader of the Bloc Quebecois. The separatist party had been doing some major soul searching after nearly getting wiped off the map in the May election. Paille lost his seat in that election but said that meant he'd have the time to travel around Quebec spreading the party's message. (Longtime leader Gilles Duceppe resigned after the disastrous May election. The party dropped from 47 seats to four.)
