Alberta Premier Alison Redford joined Prime Minister Stephen Harper in expressing disappointment at the decision by the US government to reject TransCanada Pipeline's Keystone XL project. Redford said she still believed the project -- which would construct a massive pipe to transport northern Alberta bitumen to Gulf Coast refineries in the US -- would go ahead. (Trapped by an untenable February 21st deadline imposed by Congress, the US State Department recommended that President Barack Obama reject the controversial and politically charged proposal, and Obama agreed.)
