The Canadian government confirmed the deportation of a man long accused of crimes linked to Rwanda's genocide. The government, after waiting nearly 24 hours, announced Leon Mugesera was sent back to his native Rwanda January 22nd. Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said the nearly 17 years it took to send him back was regrettable. Kenney said while everyone deserves due process, they don't deserve to abuse the process. Kenney said the Conservative government would table new legislation designed to streamline the process of sending war criminals home to face justice.
