Singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot said it was a great honor to be awarded a medal celebrating the Queen. Lightfoot was one of 60 Canadians awarded the Diamond Jubilee medal February 6th to commemorate the day Queen Elizabeth became sovereign after the death of her father. Lightfoot received his award at a ceremony at Ontario's legislature. (About 60-thousand Canadians received the medal over the course of the year.)
