A crash involving a flatbed truck and a passenger van northeast of Stratford, Ontario, took a horrific toll in human life. Ontario Provincial Police Inspector Steve Porter confirmed the grim toll at a news conference in the tiny rural community of Hampstead. (Ten of the dead were in the van. The other was the driver of the flatbed. There were three survivors.)
