Sixteen passengers sued Air Canada for 20-million dollars, alleging it covered up an incident in which a groggy pilot sent an overnight transatlantic flight into a nosedive. Passenger Linda Jaragina-Sahoo said Air Canada told her the problem was due to turbulence. (A safety board report found the plunge was caused when a groggy pilot mistakenly thought the plane was about to crash and pushed hard on the control column.)
