Gunfire erupted at a crowded Toronto community barbecue July 16th, killing a 14-year-old girl and 23 year-old man while 23 others suffered gunshot wounds. Melissa, a woman who lives in the area, said she heard the shots. (Toronto police charged 18-year-old Shaquan Mesquito with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 14-year-old Shyanne Charles of Toronto and 23-year-old Joshua Yasay of nearby Ajax, Ontario.
