Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was ordered out of office on November 26th. Ontario Superior Court Justice Charles Hackland ruled Ford broke conflict of interest rules when he participated in a council vote to recommend he repay donations that he solicited for his private football foundation using official city letterhead. Ford said the left wing wanted him out of office, and would do anything in their power to accomplish that. (Hackland later ruled Ford could run in a byelection. Ford was granted a stay on December 5th until his appeal would be heard in early January.)
