Brenden Holubowich (hall-ah-BAH'-vitch), charged in a crash that killed four high school football players from northern Alberta in 2011, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He was sentenced to three years in prison. A fifth teenager, Zach Judd, survived the collision. His mother, Desiree, said she and the families of the dead boys had all hoped the judge would rule against the plea bargain and give the driver more time behind bars. (Holubowich was also forbidden to drive for three years once he was released from prison.)
