Ralph Klein, the popular, outspoken, everyman premier who slew Alberta's debt dragon, died at the age of 70 after a battle with dementia and lung disease. Alberta Premier Alison Redford said Klein had the unique ability to lead people while never losing the common touch. (Klein died in a Calgary care facility. He was premier of Alberta from 1992 to 2006.)
