As rain-swollen rivers burst their banks across southern Alberta, more than a dozen towns declared states of emergency. In Calgary, officials started a series of rolling evacuations that resulted in nearly 75-thousand people being forced from their homes. Nathan MacBey and his wife returned to their Calgary home to find their basement submerged with muddy water and the main floor coated in filth. He explains his first thoughts as he walked in the door. MacBey had a seven-year-daughter and a three-year-old son, and said his daughter was shaken by the experience.
