A tanker truck carrying about 35-thousand liters of jet fuel crashed into Lemon Creek in British Columbia's West Kootenay region, forcing the evacuation of 15-hundred people. Bill Macpherson of the Regional District of Central Kootenay said the evacuation was not mandatory, but was issued for a wide area. (The truck had been on its way to supply helicopters battling wildfires.)
