Child pornography charges were laid against two 18-year-old men in the case of Rehtaeh (ruh-TAY'-ah) Parsons, the 17-year-old Halifax girl who died in April, 2013 following a suicide attempt that stemmed from months of cyberbullying after a digital photo of her allegedly being sexually assaulted was passed around her school. The teen's mother, Leah Parsons, said she was relieved by the arrests. (Police initially said there were not enough grounds to warrant charges, but later reopened their investigation after they said more evidence had come to light.)
