About 32-thousand people crammed into McMahon Stadium in Calgary to attend the Alberta Flood Aid benefit concert to raise money for flood recovery efforts in southern Alberta. Performers included Randy Bachman, Tom Cochrane, Corb Lund, Jann Arden, Colin James, Loverboy, Johnny Reid, The Sheepdogs and Ian Tyson. Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi was thrilled with the event. (Organizers of the event cut a cheque for 1.4-million dollars, but hoped the final total would be around two-million.)
