Mac Harb, a veteran Liberal politician who was embroiled in a battle over his Senate expenses for months, resigned from the upper chamber. His lawyer, Paul Champ, said Harb had repaid all of the money the Senate demanded from him for inappropriate expense claims, and abandoned his legal fight over the affair. (Harb said he had sent the Senate a cheque for $189,166.17, which brought his total reimbursement to $231,649.07 for questionable living and expense claims.)

Transcript Prediction: << basically it's just become extremely difficult in the last several months for Senator harp in the family and yeah I mean you know realistically he couldn't get much done in the Senate under the circumstances send he didn't feel he was in a position to keep doing the work of the Senate as a senator >>
