New Brunswick Mountie Corporal Ron Francis, who ran afoul of a policy that barred RCMP officers from smoking medicinal marijuana while in uniform, returned his dress uniform to RCMP headquarters in Fredericton after he said he was ordered to do so. Francis wept as returned the red serge, but removed a 20-year exemplary service medal. (Reports said Francis was prescribed medicinal marijuana to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. The RCMP said its officers who are prescribed medicinal marijuana should not be in red serge or regular uniform while taking their medication.)
