RCMP arrested Canadian naval engineer Qing Quentin Huang and charged him under the Security of Information Act with trying to send classified information on the Canadian military's planned Arctic patrol ships to the Chinese government. RCMP Chief Superintendent Jennifer Strachan said the 53-year-old was charged with communicating with a foreign entity. (Huang is a Canadian citizen and an employee of Lloyd's Register, a subcontractor to Irving Shipbuilding.)
