The Supreme Court of Canada refused to hear an appeal by former Quebec cardiologist Guy Turcotte, who would now face a new first-degree murder trial in the slayings of his two young children. He was originally found not criminally responsible in the 2009 stabbing deaths and briefly confined to a mental health facility before being released. In November 2013, the Quebec Court of Appeal overturned the 2011 jury verdict and ordered a second trial. Canadian Press reporter Terry Pedwell provides details.
