Canada lost its bid to overturn Europe's ban on imported seal products, but seized on World Trade Organization findings that aspects of the embargo breached international obligations. Rebecca Aldworth of Humane Society International-Canada said the WTO appeal panel's decision to uphold the ban was a victory for animal welfare.
