Preview Clip

The once-stellar reputation of Statistics Canada took a serious blow with the release of a corrected July jobs report showing the economy gained almost 42-thousand jobs -- a far cry from the paltry 200 it wrongly reported a week earlier, raising the eyebrows of economists who thought the number would be closer to 20-thousand. Finance minister Joe Oliver said he still had confidence in Statistics Canada. (Statistics Canada blamed the error on an overhaul of its Labor Force Survey, an exercise it undertakes every 10 years.)
