On September 10th, Toronto mayor Rob Ford was admitted to hospital after complaining for months of abdominal pain. Humber River Hospital CEO Doctor Rueben Devlin told reporters that doctors discovered a tumor. (A biopsy found the tumor was malignant liposarcoma -- a type of cancer that arises from fat cells and can attack a variety of soft tissues. Two days later, Rob Ford withdrew his bid for re-election, choosing instead to run again for his old council seat, which he would go on to win.)
