After 36 years, 93-year-old Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion presided over her last city council meeting. Under her leadership, Mississauga became the third-largest city in Ontario and the sixth largest in Canada. The woman nicknamed "Hurricane Hazel" said more than half-a-million people decided to make the city their home since she took office in 1978. (Incoming mayor Bonnie Crombie was officially sworn in on December 2nd.)
