RCMP have charged a woman with more than 100 counts of fraud and forgery for allegedly running a court scam out of a reserve in northern Saskatchewan. They say people ordered to complete community service work in Big River First Nation were solicited to pay money to get out of the work and false documents were filed in court. Sergeant Lyle Korczak (CORE-zak) says officers investigated the reserve's former fine option co-ordinator for more than a year and forwarded the case to Crown prosecutors for a recommendation on charges. (Sylvia Grace Joseph is to appear in Big River provincial court next month. Mounties say she was suspended from her job when they started investigating.)
