Dennis Oland has been ordered to stand trial on a charge of second-degree murder in his father's death. Richard Oland was found dead in his Saint John, New Brunswick office on July 7th, 2011. The 69-year-old was a prominent businessman and part of the well-known Maritime family that owns Moosehead Breweries. Dennis Oland did not offer any reaction after the ruling. Defence lawyer Gary Miller says he's disappointed but not surprised. (The preliminary hearing lasted 37 days and heard from 42 witnesses. There is a ban on the publication of that evidence. Oland is to enter a plea on February 2nd.)
