Nova Scotia's chief public health office has confirmed the strain of meningitis linked to the death of a university student. Dr. Robert Strang says a national lab determined that the young woman had the B strain of the disease. He says that strain is becoming more common. (The woman was taken on January 31st to the E-R of a hospital near Acadian University where she was a student. She died the following day. The university says Sarah Hastings of Cambridge, Ontario, was a first-year student in the Manning School of Business Administration.)
