The federal justice minister has taken a strong stand against invoking a section of the charter that would override the Supreme Court of Canada. Peter MacKay won't say how the government will act concerning the decision, but says they're pretty set against one of the three options. (If the government decides not to draft new laws, the old law will lapse and Canada will have no clear rules around the right-to-die issue.)
