Negotiations continue between Canadian Pacific Railway and two of its unions in the hope of preventing a possible weekend strike. Workers from the Unifor and the Teamsters Canada unions have threatened to walk off the job at midnight. Unifor National Rail Director Brian Stevens says he is cautiously optimistic that the sides will reach an agreement. (Federal Labour minister Kellie Leitch is in Montreal to help with negotiations. The strike would affect about five thousand workers.)
