The head of Emera in Newfoundland and Labrador says the 1.6-billion-dollar Maritime Link that's part of the Muskrat Falls hydro project is on time and on budget. President Rick Janega (jan-EH'-gah) says the subsea link is scheduled to bring power to Nova Scotia in October of 2017 and has already created 300 jobs. (The Muskrat Falls project is expected to cost about 8.6-billion dollars, including Emera's share of the cable.)
