An all-party committee is recommending police forces across B-C outfit officers with body cameras. The proposal is based on the rising use of cameras in other jurisdictions and was already tried successfully last fall during the dismantling of a homeless camp in Vancouver. The committee's deputy chair, MLA Spencer Chandra Herbert, says it's a new step of protection for both police and citizens. (The B-C ministry of justice must green light the use of cameras before police forces can set about discussing the details.)
