Toronto police say the extensive tunnel that was found near one of the Pan Am Games venues had a generator, lights and a sump pump. Deputy Chief Mark Saunders says they have collected all of the evidence needed for a forensic investigation and the tunnel has been filled in. Saunders, who is the executive officer in charge of Pan Am Games security, was asked whether the tunnel was a potential threat to the Games. He says the short answer is -- "No." (Saunders says while police still don't know who built it -- and for what purpose -- at this point -- there's no element of criminality. He points out there's no law against digging a hole.)
