Bank robber-turned-author Stephen Reid has been denied full parole. The parole board says Reid's criminal past, drug use and spotty supervision record outweigh the positive steps he's made since a daring bank robbery and shootout with police 16 years ago in Victoria. Reid says he's disappointed but will continue his life as a writer and grandfather. (Reid is currently on day parole and is living in a Victoria-area halfway house, but he's eligible for statutory release in six months.)
