Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz says the investigation into a case of mad cow disease continues, but warns finding the source is akin to looking for a needle in a haystack. The beef breeding cow with BSE was discovered last month on a farm near Edmonton and was born on a nearby farm. Ritz says the CFIA has already found 40 to 50 per cent of the animals raised at the same time as the infected cow and those it came into contact with at other farms. (Ritz says only a handful of countries have implemented temporary suspensions on Canadian beef.)
