Ottawa has spent almost 65-thousand dollars in a legal fight over home-equity assistance for a military member who lost 88-thousand dollars on the sale of his house when he moved for work. Major Marcus Brauer says he was dismayed to see how much the government has spent fighting his case. (Brauer went to court to seek compensation for his losses after the Treasury Board Secretariat granted him 15-thousand dollars in compensation.)
