Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh (JAY) Johnson signed a pre-clearance customs agreement during a ceremony in Washington today. Blaney says it is critical the two countries manage the border in a way that does not turn into a barrier to commerce or prosperity. (The deal signed today would allow customs agents to work in each other's countries, which means they could screen passengers away from the border and ease the choke points.)
