The Crown wants more jail time for a Calgary man who abused, starved and killed a dog and cat over a year ago. Gord Haight (HYTE) is asking a judge for a sentence of two-and-a-half to three years -- plus probation -- for Nicolino Camardi. Haight says he is asking for the highest sentence ever for animal abuse because of the public revulsion in the circumstances in this case. (Camardi will be sentenced Friday. His lawyer thinks 18 months is appropriate.)
