The federal government has introduce a motion to expand and extend Canada's war against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke about the planned military mission extension today in the House of Commons. (The plan, to be voted on by MPs, will be debated beginning Thursday and removes a restriction that the prime minister placed on combat forces when they were first deployed last October. That caveat required the military to seek permission before attacking ISIL positions in Syria.)
