Preview Clip

A bail hearing is to continue tomorrow for former Guantanamo Bay inmate Omar Khadr. His lawyers are asking an Edmonton judge to release him while he appeals his war-crimes conviction in the US. They say the appeal is taking too long and might not be finished before Khadr completes his eight-year sentence. Samuel Morison is a military lawyer handling Khadr's US appeal. He says the appeal has merit and one of Khadr's convictions has already been proven invalid by another case. (The Canadian government says if Omar Khadr wants freedom, he should ask the parole board, not the courts. Khadr is set to appear before the board in June.)
