An important part of Alberta's oilsands air monitoring system has been cancelled due to funding problems. Kevin Percy of the Wood Buffalo Environmental Association says it doesn't have the money to replace a worn-out mobile air testing unit it used to respond to emergencies and community concerns. (A spokeswoman for the group that funds the association says it's in the process of determining just how much money it will take to keep an eye on the environment. But New Democrat Leader Rachel Notley says the whole system is too dependent on funding from industry.)
