Britain's foreign minister says he welcomes Prime Minister Harper's proposal to conduct air strikes against Islamic state militants in Syria. Philip Hammond commented after a Toronto-area meeting with his Canadian counterpart. Foreign Affairs Minister Rob Nicholson says he was recently in Iraq and coalition forces are making progress against the militants. (Up to 69 Canadian special forces advisers will also remain in the region to advise and assist Kurdish forces in beating back the advance of I-SIL militants.)
