A federal government report that calls for substantial changes to negotiating treaties across the country, and especially British Columbia, has the support of at least two large B-C aboriginal bands. First Nations Summit spokeswoman Cheryl Casimer says the report calls for a stronger commitment by the government to resolve land-claims treaties with natives. (In contrast, the Union of B-C Indian Chiefs slams the report and says it endorses a failing process.)
