The Ontario Craft Brewers association is applauding the Ontario government's changes to the way beer is sold, especially the fact they will be given up to 20 per cent of shelf space in the Beer Store's outlets. Cam Heaps of Steam Whistle Brewing says the smaller brewers should be able to increase their market share and hire more employees. (Ontario is also imposing a new tax on all beer sold in the province, which is expected to bring in about 100-million-dollars a year.)
