Guy Laliberte, the founder of the Cirque du Soleil, says he is looking forward to other creative challenges as he sells his majority stake in the famed circus group to US private equity firm TPG for an undisclosed price. Laliberte has five children between the ages of seven and 18. He told a news conference he didn't want them to take over the business. (Laliberte, who says the Cirque is still a profitable venture that sells 11 million tickets a year, will maintain a 10 per cent stake in the Montreal-based company. The Chinese investment firm Fosun and Quebec pension fund manager the Caisse de depot will also hold minority stakes.)
