Ontario finance Minister Charles Sousa says a transit fund in the federal budget amounts to "crumbs" of what Ontario needs. Ontario's Liberal government has pledged to spend 31-billion dollars on transit projects over 10 years and they want Ottawa to ramp up its own infrastructure spending. A new federal fund allocates 750-million over two years, starting in 2017-18, then it rises to one-billion a year. Sousa says Ontario will still be spending way more on infrastructure than Ottawa. (Sousa will unveil his own budget tomorrow, when he says he will lay out the path to balance by 2017-18 -- a target many analysts and critics are skeptical can be met.)
